Auntie Taylor's B-Day & Good Neighbors

June, so far, has been full of things I am thankful for.
For starters, Mike and I celebrated our 6th anniversary. It was a very low-key event, but that's how we wanted it, what with being old married people with two young children, working hard for the money...we were in need of a yummy meal at Seviche, a cup of coffee and a rented movie.

Grammie Lisa and Papa J just celebrated their birthdays, get this, both were born June 11th. Papa J turned "double nickels," as he likes to say.

Grammie Lisa, PaPaPa and Uncle Jake just returned from Kenya where they ran a very successful medical clinic, as well as planted 1000 fruit trees and bought 5 milking goats for the orphans there. They worked on rain catching tanks to hopefully supply the people there with enough water to get them through the dry season. Glasses were distributed to those with impaired vision and vitamins for anemia. It was joyous and heart-wrenching. If anyone ever desires to help them financially in this annual work, I can connect you to them.

Auntie Taylor celebrated her Sweet Sixteen this month. Now she has her driving permit and soon she will have her license. That is such a fun time in one's life.

Anna helped Taylor blow her candles out.

Grammie Retta cut the family's famous Chocolate Miracle Whip Cake with Caramel Icing.

Mmmm...

Another thing we're thankful for is good neighbors.
Jackson is Anna's friend from across the street. We really like the whole family.

Jackson, Jacquelyn and Jack!

Jackson had his peace sign shirt on and would give a gangsta peace. You know, fist pounded on his chest two times and then flashed the peace.

Jackson came over to swim with Anna in her new inflatable pool ($8.99 at Target, yo).

So sweet.

And here are just some random pictures from these past two weeks.

Anna loved helping Mike wash our car.

Hope you guys have something to be thankful for, too.

And darling Anna too of course...even though her pure sugary-sweetness is going through some slight growing pains at the moment :) We know it's there and it still comes out and shines.
